with miner JohnPerelle,<strong>and</strong> because it. demonstrates patterns <strong>of</strong><br />
community development in <strong>Juneau</strong>, Alaska. John Perelle reportedly<br />
built the apartment house. Perelle was ·aminer <strong>and</strong> also contracted to<br />
drive tunnels for the local mining companies.<br />
