Historic Significance: This building is significant because it is one of
eight buildings in the survey area classified as "No style" and
demonstrates Juneau's vernacular forms, because·of its association
with miner JohnPerelle,and because it. demonstrates patterns of
community development in Juneau, Alaska. John Perelle reportedly
built the apartment house. Perelle was ·aminer and also contracted to
drive tunnels for the local mining companies.
