demonstrates patterns <strong>of</strong> community development in <strong>Juneau</strong>, Alaska.<br />

The home was constructed for Claude Erickson, owner afthe Gastineau<br />

Hotel <strong>and</strong> later, in the 1920's <strong>and</strong> 30's, the home was purchased by<br />

M.L. Merritt, Assistant Regional Forester.<br />
