vernacular interpretation <strong>of</strong> national styles, because <strong>of</strong> its<br />
association with.mining supervisor,Victor Wilhelm, <strong>and</strong> because it<br />
demonstrates patterns <strong>of</strong> communi t.y development in <strong>Juneau</strong>, Alaska. The<br />
Wilhelm's owned the house fromc.1915-1924. Wilhelm was part owner <strong>of</strong><br />
the engineering <strong>and</strong> survey· firm <strong>of</strong> wettrick <strong>and</strong> Wilhelm <strong>and</strong> he<br />
surveyed the Casey-Shattuck <strong>and</strong> Irwin Additions as well as ..":many mining<br />
claims in the area.<br />
