Hisr.oric Significance: This building is significant. because it is one <strong>of</strong><br />

five Tudor Revival buildings in the survey area which demonstrates<br />

<strong>Juneau</strong>'s vernacular interpretation <strong>of</strong> national styles <strong>and</strong> because it<br />

demonstrates patterns <strong>of</strong> community development in <strong>Juneau</strong>, Alaska.<br />

This home.was probably built by Emil Krause who built several in the<br />

area,l.ivedwith his family in them for a short while, <strong>and</strong> eventually<br />

sold them to others. Krause was a builder <strong>and</strong> mason who also owned a<br />

concrete plant.<br />
