General Description: Despite deck addition, retains integrity <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>Historic</strong> Significance: This building is significant because it is one <strong>of</strong><br />

42 Craftsman buildings in the survey area which demonstrates <strong>Juneau</strong>'s<br />

vernacular interpretation <strong>of</strong> national styles <strong>and</strong> because it<br />

demonstrates patterns <strong>of</strong> community development in <strong>Juneau</strong>,Alaska. The<br />

home was owned by Albert E.Johnstone. Later Archie Radelet owned the<br />

home. He was Chief Engineer for the Alaska Electric Light <strong>and</strong> Power<br />

Company from 1923 to 1946.. The first owners were Dan Bridget<br />

McCartney. McCartney was foreman for the John Brown Mining Company.<br />
