1.0 Introduction
Figure 1 on page 13 does not state the source of the data used
to compile the map and it appears that it was done by merging
two data sets, the Heddle et al. (1980) and the Havel and
Mattiske (2000) vegetation complex data sets, rather than
clipping these data sets together along the boundary defined by
the Regional Forest Agreement (RFA) in Havel and Mattiske
(2000). This resulted in double entries for the Swan Coastal Plain
and Darling Scarp vegetation complexes.
Figure 1 on page 13, it is probable that this map is not
representative of statistics provided by PBP. It is recommended
that a properly clipped vegetation complex map for the whole
Shire be presented.
2.0 What is Biodiversity?
Section 2 on page 16 describes the methodology used to
interpret and quantify ecological communities. Clarify which
areas are represented in listed references. Havel and Mattiske
(2000) vegetation complexes applies only to areas covered by the
RFA but the Heddle et al. (1980) vegetation complex mapping
represents those vegetation complexes on the Swan Coastal Plain
not covered by the RFA.
