Items Actioned
enable the formulation and implementation of processes by which
the success or failure of management actions can be monitored
Section 9.1 on page 49, Paragraph 5, second sentence: should
read “ Protection of at least 30% of the original extent of each
complex within the Shire, plus buffers, is therefore the minimum
target,” …
Section 9.2 on pages 50 – 53, Suggestion: Land which has high
value as a conservation area / link, and which is zoned for
development which is incompatible with conservation, and which
has not been developed, should be identified as a conservation
area/link in the assessment process. For example, an area that
has been zoned industrial should not mean it be discounted for
conservation. There may be ways in which it can be preserved or
rehabilitated.
Document amended to reflect comment. See page 49.
Comment noted. All Shire policies are utilised in assessing
applications for development proposals with each proposal
being assessed on a case by case basis.
How this land is secured and/or rehabilitated is a separate issue
to be determined later in the conservation process. Funding
opportunities exist for acquisition or safeguarding of the land.
Comment noted. The Shire has successfully liaised with
DPI, with the support of DEC, to facilitate the acquisition
of a high conservation value Brae Road landholding at
High Wycombe.
See Section 11.2
Land Purchase
