NRPG withhold judgement on selling reserves ‘that serve not the<br />
public or ecological function…’ Each area needs to be assessed<br />
on a case by case basis. Rehabilitated areas may functions as<br />
valuable ecological links then they’re worth keeping. Community<br />
consultation for these decisions.<br />
Amend <strong>Local</strong> Planning Scheme No.3 to support the protection <strong>of</strong><br />
natural areas by including the <strong>Shire</strong>’s Building Services division in<br />
a familiarisation <strong>of</strong> the approvals process. To be used where<br />
planning approval is not needed but where there may be valuable<br />
endemic vegetation.<br />

revision <strong>of</strong> the current Tree Preservation Policy (ENV9).<br />
Document amended. <strong>Local</strong> <strong>Biodiversity</strong> <strong>Strategy</strong> has been<br />
altered to incorporate the requirement that land assessed<br />
for retention / sale should be freehold land, rather than an<br />
existing reserve.<br />
