Summary of General Comments Officer Comments Reference for
Items Actioned
Payment of a “Wildlife Survival Levy” is acceptable if it was to
purchase a blocks of land for wildlife habitat.
Comment noted. Proposal supported through the
introduction of an Environmental Levy.
See Section 11.10
Environmental
Levy page 88.
Section 5. Conservation of Local Biodiversity
Section 5.2.1 on page 27, Citation incorrect. Del Marco et al.
(2004) cited as reference for Bush Forever. Bush Forever
documents should be referenced instead.
Document amended to reflect comment. See page 28.
Section 5.2.3 on page 29, We have a concern over the proposal
not to protect private land which is not covered by a
management agreement of at least five years.
Comment noted. A milestone of the PBP process is the
development of a Private Land Conservation Strategy that
will look at a range of options including management
agreements and /or conservation covenants. The
development and implementation of such a strategy is
incorporated into the Biodiversity Conservation Actions for
Implementation.
See Section 12
Biodiversity
Conservation
Actions for
Implementation
pages 90 - 97.
Section 5.2.3 on page 29, The first paragraph of this section
does not provide a response to the question ‘how will natural
areas be protected?’, and therefore should be removed or
rephrased to be more relevant.
Section 5.2.3 on page 29, This section should concentrate on
defining which natural areas are considered for protecting
biodiversity and which planning mechanism will be used to
achieve biodiversity conservation.
Document amended to reflect comment. See page 29.
