(EHCMP), which facilitates Regional Catchment
Management Groups and the Bush Shills for the Hills
program. The Shire also willingly supports Great Gardens
Team, facilitates Living Smart Courses and engages in
Property Planning consultancy to help raise the general
awareness levels of private landholders in the district.
Section 10.1 on page 63, Paragraph 4: Priority being given only
to areas of greater size than 4 ha would have meant that the
Brae Road landholding in High Wycombe would have been
excluded. In a case where an area does not meet the 4 ha
requirement, should a buffer be created to bring it up to size?
Comment noted. The Shire retains areas in regards to the
significance of vegetation not just to size with each
proposal being assessed on a case by case basis. Due the
existing development or predetermined structure plans in
many cases there may not be a possibility to introduce
buffers.
11. Potential Biodiversity Conservation Actions
The Local Biodiversity Strategy provides a good review of
mechanisms used to increase biodiversity protection. The Shire
should continue working with PBP and the EnviroPlanning Project,
coordinated through DPI during its implementation.
PBP is committed to assisting local governments in the protection
of their biodiversity values through:
• GIS services;
• Vegetation mapping and upgrades;
• NAIA templates; and
• Education.
