Accreditations<br />
and approvals<br />
• Accredited by the Government of Grenada.<br />
• Accredited by The Caribbean Accreditation<br />
Authority for Education in Medicine and other<br />
Health Professions (CAAM-HP), one of only<br />
three existing private medical schools to have<br />
this accreditation. CAAM-HP is recognized<br />
by the General Medical Council (GMC) of the<br />
UK and by the World Federation for Medical<br />
Education (WFME) Foundation for Advancement<br />
of International Medical Education and Research<br />
(FAIMER). After 2023, the Educational Commission<br />
for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) will issue<br />
ECFMG certification only for degrees obtained<br />
from a medical school with an accreditation<br />
recognized by the WFME.<br />
• Approved by the Commission for Independent<br />
Education (CIE) of the Florida Department of<br />
Education.<br />
• The National Committee on Foreign Medical<br />
Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA) of the<br />
United <strong>St</strong>ates Department of Education (USDOE),<br />
in conjunction with the approval of the <strong>St</strong>ate of<br />
New York, has deemed Grenada’s accreditation<br />
standards to be equivalent to those utilized by the<br />
United <strong>St</strong>ates.<br />
• <strong>St</strong>. George’s <strong>University</strong>’s Master of Public Health<br />
program is only one of a few non-US programs<br />
to receive accreditation by the US Council on<br />
Education for Public Health (CEPH).<br />
• Approved by the New York <strong>St</strong>ate Education<br />
Department (NYSED) for the purpose of<br />
conducting clinical training programs in the <strong>St</strong>ate<br />
of New York.<br />
• Approved by the New Jersey <strong>St</strong>ate Board of<br />
Medical Examiners (NJSBME) and the <strong>St</strong>ate of<br />
New Jersey for the purpose of conducting clinical<br />
training programs in the <strong>St</strong>ate of New Jersey.<br />
• Recognized by the Medical Board of California.<br />
• SGU School of Medicine (SGUSOM) has been<br />
reviewed and approved by the following bodies<br />
internationally: The Bahamas Medical Council,<br />
The Bermuda Medical Council, DIKATSA (Greek<br />
Medical Licensing Authority), The Sri Lankan<br />
Medical Council, The Thailand Medical Council,<br />
The Government of Botswana, The Government<br />
of <strong>St</strong>. Vincent, The Medical Board of Trinidad<br />
and Tobago, and the Association of Caribbean<br />
