Dual MD/MPH, MD/MBA, and<br />

MD/MSc Degree Programs<br />

Scholarships<br />

For more information regarding scholarships available for<br />

the Graduate <strong>St</strong>udies programs, please contact the Office<br />

of Financial Aid.<br />

MBA Program Scholarship<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents enrolling in the dual MD/MBA degree program<br />

will automatically be awarded a partial scholarship for the<br />

MBA program. This Charter Scholarship reduces the MBA<br />

tuition by 30%.<br />

Commonwealth Jubilee Scholarship PrograM<br />

Master of public Health Program<br />

The Commonwealth Jubilee Scholarship Program,<br />

commemorating the 60 years of the Queen’s reign as<br />

the Head of the Commonwealth of Nations, provides for<br />

60 full-tuition scholarships to be awarded to citizens of<br />

Commonwealth nations. Ten scholarships are available for<br />

students accepted in to the MPH program<br />

to Apply: A prospective scholarship candidate must<br />

be a resident citizen of a Commonwealth country, have<br />

been accepted to <strong>St</strong>. George’s <strong>University</strong>, and submit an<br />

essay detailing how this award will ultimately benefit the<br />

development of his/her country. The application is available<br />

at sgu.edu/jubilee. The scholarship application and essay<br />

must be submitted by the following deadlines:<br />

• The deadline for the August class is June 1<br />

• The deadline for the January class is November 1<br />

Private Education Loans for the Dual<br />

MD/MPH or MD/MSc Degree Programs<br />

Private educational loans may be available to US students.<br />

<strong>St</strong>udents who qualify for private loans may be able to use<br />

these loans to fund the full cost for the MPH or MSc portion<br />

of their education. These private loan programs are creditbased<br />

and offered only to students who meet the credit<br />

requirements determined by the lender. <strong>St</strong>udents may be<br />

required to have a cosigner for these loans. Repayment<br />

begins after graduation or withdrawal from the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

Applications for private loans are completed by the<br />

applicant and certified by the Office of Financial Aid. The<br />

Office of Financial Aid also provides counseling services<br />

to our students to help them understand the eligibility<br />

requirements, terms, and conditions of these loans.<br />

Finances<br />

A Commonwealth Jubilee Scholarship Committee<br />

established by the <strong>University</strong> awards the scholarships.<br />

The scholarship funds tuition only. <strong>St</strong>udents must have a<br />

financial plan in place to fund living and travel expenses<br />

through their own personal resources or alternative<br />

funding sources.<br />
