Chancellor’s Circle Legacy of
Excellence Awards
One of our Legacy of Excellence Awards, the Chancellor’s
Circle Scholarship, is automatically awarded to accepted
students who have earned an overall undergraduate GPA
of 3.7, a 3.5 science GPA and a 29 MCAT score. Fifty of
these one-third tuition scholarships will be awarded. No
application is necessary for this scholarship. Students are
identified during the admission application process and
notified of their award through the Office of Admission
Office upon acceptance into the University.

CityDoctors Scholarships
The CityDoctors Scholarship awards full and half
scholarships to students committed to working as a
primary care attending physician at one of the program’s
city hospitals. The scholarship is designed to attract and
educate the best and brightest from the participating
city hospital’s region to become doctors committed to
serving their residents with academic and needs-based
scholarships. For more information on this scholarship and

Need-Based Scholarships for
US Students or Permanent Residents
The Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with guidelines
set by the school’s Financial Aid Committee, makes the
selection of award recipients. Award determinations are
based on academic excellence, the degree of the family’s
financial need and the availability of funds from SGU, as well
as each scholarship program’s specified criteria. A student’s
ability to finance his/her education beyond the extent of the
financial aid award is also an important selection criterion.

Application Deadlines: July 1 for class commencing in
August and December 1 for class commencing in January.
Students accepted to the University after the scholarship
application deadline will have a deadline of the first day of
registration. No application will be accepted later than the
first day of classes.
Geoffrey H. Bourne Scholarship
Partial scholarships are awarded to entering students who
possess the personal qualities of motivation and integrity, as
well as a background that demonstrates academic excellence.

The Alumni Mentor Scholarship
The Alumni Mentor Scholarship is a partial-tuition
scholarship awarded to entering students who have
been nominated by a graduate of St. George’s University.
Nominees must demonstrate the commitment and
dedication necessary to achieve academic success and
the passion and drive to become a physician. Alumni
whose applicant is chosen to receive a scholarship will be
the guest of St. George’s to witness their future doctors
entrance into the medical profession at the White Coat
Ceremony in Grenada.

Congress of Italian American
Organizations (CIAO)
Partial scholarships are awarded in honor of Mrs. Mary
Sansone, Executive Director of Congress of Italian
American Organizations (CIAO), for her many years of
community service. Preference is given to students of
Italian descent; however, students of all heritages have
received these awards.
Stephen R. Kopycinski Memorial Scholarships
Partial tuition scholarships are awarded under the auspices
of the Polonians, a national organization that promotes
Polish heritage and culture. The awards are made in
memory of Stephen R. Kopycinski, a former administrator
at St. George’s University. Preference is given to students
of Polish descent; however, students of all heritages have
received these awards.
