Chancellor’s Circle Legacy of<br />
Excellence Awards<br />
One of our Legacy of Excellence Awards, the Chancellor’s<br />
Circle Scholarship, is automatically awarded to accepted<br />
students who have earned an overall undergraduate GPA<br />
of 3.7, a 3.5 science GPA and a 29 MCAT score. Fifty of<br />
these one-third tuition scholarships will be awarded. No<br />
application is necessary for this scholarship. <strong>St</strong>udents are<br />
identified during the admission application process and<br />
notified of their award through the Office of Admission<br />
Office upon acceptance into the <strong>University</strong>.<br />

CityDoctors Scholarships<br />
The CityDoctors Scholarship awards full and half<br />
scholarships to students committed to working as a<br />
primary care attending physician at one of the program’s<br />
city hospitals. The scholarship is designed to attract and<br />
educate the best and brightest from the participating<br />
city hospital’s region to become doctors committed to<br />
serving their residents with academic and needs-based<br />

Need-Based Scholarships for<br />
US <strong>St</strong>udents or Permanent Residents<br />
The Office of Financial Aid, in accordance with guidelines<br />
set by the school’s Financial Aid Committee, makes the<br />
selection of award recipients. Award determinations are<br />
based on academic excellence, the degree of the family’s<br />
financial need and the availability of funds from SGU, as well<br />
as each scholarship program’s specified criteria. A student’s<br />
ability to finance his/her education beyond the extent of the<br />
financial aid award is also an important selection criterion.<br />

Application Deadlines: July 1 for class commencing in<br />
August and December 1 for class commencing in January.<br />
<strong>St</strong>udents accepted to the <strong>University</strong> after the scholarship<br />
application deadline will have a deadline of the first day of<br />
registration. No application will be accepted later than the<br />
first day of classes.<br />
Geoffrey H. Bourne Scholarship<br />
Partial scholarships are awarded to entering students who<br />
possess the personal qualities of motivation and integrity, as<br />
well as a background that demonstrates academic excellence.<br />

Finances<br />
The Alumni Mentor Scholarship<br />
The Alumni Mentor Scholarship is a partial-tuition<br />
scholarship awarded to entering students who have<br />
been nominated by a graduate of <strong>St</strong>. George’s <strong>University</strong>.<br />
Nominees must demonstrate the commitment and<br />
dedication necessary to achieve academic success and<br />
the passion and drive to become a physician. Alumni<br />
whose applicant is chosen to receive a scholarship will be<br />
the guest of <strong>St</strong>. George’s to witness their future doctors<br />
entrance into the medical profession at the White Coat<br />
Ceremony in Grenada.<br />

Congress of Italian American<br />
Organizations (CIAO)<br />
Partial scholarships are awarded in honor of Mrs. Mary<br />
Sansone, Executive Director of Congress of Italian<br />
American Organizations (CIAO), for her many years of<br />
community service. Preference is given to students of<br />
Italian descent; however, students of all heritages have<br />
received these awards.<br />
<strong>St</strong>ephen R. Kopycinski Memorial Scholarships<br />
Partial tuition scholarships are awarded under the auspices<br />
of the Polonians, a national organization that promotes<br />
Polish heritage and culture. The awards are made in<br />
memory of <strong>St</strong>ephen R. Kopycinski, a former administrator<br />
at <strong>St</strong>. George’s <strong>University</strong>. Preference is given to students<br />
of Polish descent; however, students of all heritages have<br />
received these awards.<br />
