Proposed Action
Major Development Project in Southall accessed
through Council land onto Hayes By Pass.
Planning applications were received on 28 June
2005 for works in the borough and in Ealing.
The developers have withdrawn their appeals
against Hillingdon’s refusal of planning permission
for the link roads.
Timescale
Ongoing:
British gas have now decided that two of the
gasometers can be declared surplus and released
for development providing a further 8 acres to add
to the existing site. There is also a likelihood that
the remaining gasometer could be released within
10 years.
The development consortium has appointed new
Master Planners to produce a new master plan for
the whole site with a view to a new planning
application being submitted in December 2007.
In the meantime the new Transportation
Consultants are continuing to work on providing

than previously adopted. This has involved Ealing
and Hillingdon Transportation Officers.
Ealing Council have expressed the view that they
wish to see the total residential content reduced
and would certainly be opposed to any increase.
The suggestion is that this may lead to the
additional land being earmarked mainly for
commercial development.
