From the early days, the
Tata Steel workforce was an
international mix.
The blast furnace staff
consisted of Americans;
the steel works crew was
German; the rolling mills
were staffed by Englishmen,
the carpentry and pattern
shop workers were Chinese.
Tata BlueScope Steel Limited has started
operations with its first pre-engineered building
manufacturing unit in Pune.
2006
Tata Steel proposed
to set up a plant at
Richards Bay, South
Africa to produce high
carbon ferro chrome for
global consumers.
2007
Tata Steel acquired the
Corus Group to emerge as
one of the world’s largest
steel companies.
