Aspire with T3<br />
With the objective of emphasising the role of improvement<br />
initiatives in <strong>Tata</strong> <strong>Steel</strong>’s ever growing aspirations “ASPIRE<br />
T3” was launched. This initiative focuses on motivating<br />
employees in dedicating themselves to the three Ts - TOC<br />
(Theory of constraints), TQM (Total Quality Management)<br />
and Technology. These enablers used in an integrated<br />
manner will facilitate the achievement of <strong>Tata</strong> <strong>Steel</strong>’s growing<br />
aspirations of being reckoned as the Number One <strong>Steel</strong><br />
Company in the world, in all aspects of relevance.<br />
• The TOC programme focuses on Solution for Sales (Value<br />
selling solutions), Supply Chain & Operations and Critical<br />
Chain Project Management.<br />
• TQM includes Policy Management, Daily Management<br />
and Problem Solving.<br />

• Prime Minister’s Trophy for Best Integrated<br />
<strong>Steel</strong> Plant.<br />

The TOC program is primarily focused on creating value for<br />
customers while TQM is facilitating further improvement of<br />
the internal capabilities driven by customer requirements.<br />
Technology promotion aims at fostering a technology<br />
technical mindset amongst cross-section of employees thus<br />
helping in achieving self reliance in relevant technologies.<br />
The “Award for Corporate Social Responsibility in Public<br />
Health” was conferred on <strong>Tata</strong> <strong>Steel</strong> by the US-India Business<br />
Council (USIBC), Population Services International (PSI) and<br />
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) for<br />
outstanding contribution to combat HIV/AIDS in <strong>2007</strong>.<br />
