Panasonic’s announced price reductions between $500 and $200, as follows:
$500 reduction:
58” TH-58PX600U from $6,000 to $5,500
58” TH-58PX60U from $5,500 to $5,000
$200 reduction:
37” TH-37PX60U from $2,000 to $1,800
$400 reduction:
42” TH-42PX600U from $3,000 to $2,600
50” TH-50PX600U from $4,000 to $3,600
42” TH-42PX60U from $2,500 to $2,100
50” TH-50PX60U from $3,500 to $3,100
Price unchanged for:
65” 1080p model, still at $10,000
Additional price reductions were applied to prices above by several retail chains, such
as Circuit City and Fry’s.
Panasonic was not alone at announcing price reductions:
HP (42” PL4260N reduced $100, 50” PL5060N reduced $200), and
Hitachi (42” 42HDS69 reduced $300, 55” 55HDS69 reduced $300).

Panasonic introduced their existing 103” and 65” models, and two new models in 50”
and 58” all in 1080p, all HDMI 1.2 and with SD Card slots and Viera Link, TTM Sep
06 in Japan, the 103” ($70,000) and the 65” ($10,000) models planned to become
available in Oct 06 in the US.

Panasonic announced its
full line of Plasmas for
2007, including a 50-
inch and 58-inch 1080p
high definition model,
