horizontal social strata; it is important to recognise that the peacebuilding benefits of such a<br />
project are not realised immediately or in the short-term. Such an endeavour requires time,<br />
good faith, commitment and continued communication and collaboration between all parties<br />
involved. Third, cooperative processes and projects for the creation of a protected area must<br />
be explicitly linked to specific peacebuilding outcomes, in order to assist in transforming<br />
technical environmental cooperation into broader social and political cooperation.<br />
