African American (16.3%). Other ethnics included Hispanics (5.9%), Asian or Pacific Islander
(2.7%) and Native Americans (1.8%).
Most of the respondents have lived in Indianapolis for at least 2 years (83.8%). Among them,
about 50.7% have lived here for 10 years or more. From Table 1, it can be seen that respondents
were about equally distributed in terms of family income. For instance, 27.0% of the
respondents had less than $30,001 household income, another 25.1% had household income
of $30,001-60,000, and the other more than one-third with household income over $60,000.
