Introduction<br />
The HOPe Directorate specialities are Haematology,<br />
Medical and Radiation Oncology and Palliative Care. These<br />
specialties incorporate the National Centre for Adult Bone<br />
Marrow Transplantation and National Centre for Hereditary<br />
Coagulation <strong>St</strong>udies, which includes the Warfarin Clinic.<br />
The HOPe Directorate has strong links with the Cancer<br />
Clinical Trials Consortium Programme and the Bone Marrow<br />
for Leukaemia Trust.<br />
Service Trends<br />
During <strong>2010</strong>, the Directorate activity increased in both the<br />
inpatient and daycare setting.<br />
Haematology Oncology Daycare<br />
The Haematology Oncology Daycare Centre experienced<br />
a 7% increase in attendances. This majority of this increase<br />
was in the haematology service, as a result of the increase<br />
in transplant activity. This is detailed in the graph below.<br />
