The following represents the tuition and fees for the 2009-<strong>2010</strong> academic<br />

year. For future years, these amounts are subject to change based on the<br />

recommendations of the college’s Board of Trustees.<br />

Fees<br />

Application Fee (non-refundable)<br />

A $25 fee is charged when applying for enrollment in credit courses. The fee is<br />

a one-time charge and is in effect for your expected admission term or any<br />

time in the future.<br />

Instructional Support Fee<br />

Instructional support fees are charged to support the cost of technology and/or<br />

the cost of unusual staffing, supply or facility costs associated with the course.<br />

Credit courses are charged either $30.00, $35.00 or $40.00 per credit hour.<br />

Plant Fee<br />

A plant fee is charged to all students who do not reside in a school district that<br />

sponsors <strong>Delaware</strong> <strong>County</strong> <strong>Community</strong> <strong>College</strong>. The plant fee for nonsponsors<br />

who live in Pennsylvania is $3 per credit hour. Plant fee for out-ofstate<br />

students is $6 per credit hour.<br />

Records Processing Fee (non-refundable)<br />

This fee is charged each semester to students to cover the cost of transcripts,<br />

enrollment/payment verification, early registration, drop/add processing and<br />

parking lot services.<br />

Payment Plan Fee (non-refundable)<br />

A $30 fee is charged for deferring payment of tuition and fees through the<br />

<strong>College</strong>’s Payment Plan. The payment plan is limited to credit courses and is<br />

not available to international students. Payments and due dates vary by term.<br />

Specific information about the plan may be obtained from the cashier at 610-<br />

359-5118.<br />

Late Registration Fee (non-refundable)<br />

A $20 fee may be charged to all students who register for courses after the<br />

announced registration dates or during the designated late registration period.<br />

Check Service Fee<br />

A $25 fee is charged each time a check is returned by the bank.<br />

Commencement Fee (non-refundable)<br />

A $25 fee is charged to all students who notify the <strong>College</strong> of their eligibility to<br />

graduate by filing the appropriate application. The fee covers the cost of<br />

completion credentials, rental of cap and gown, and other commencement<br />

expenses. This fee is assessed only once per degree.<br />

Certificate of Competency Fee (non-refundable)<br />

A $10 fee is charged to all students who anticipate completing Certificate of<br />

Competency program requirements and file the appropriate application form.<br />

The fee covers the cost of completion credentials. For concurrent certificates,<br />

additional forms and fees apply.<br />

International Fee (non-refundable)<br />

A $35 per credit hour International Fee is charged to students who are citizens<br />

of a country other than the United States and who enter on non-immigrant<br />

visas. This fee is used to support services to international students at DCCC.<br />

Payment Policy<br />

All tuition and fees are payable at time of registration unless the student<br />

participates in the <strong>College</strong>’s Tuition Payment Plan (see below). The <strong>College</strong><br />

accepts American Express, VISA, MasterCard, Discover Card, cash, money<br />

orders and personal checks. The Marple, Downingtown, and Southeast<br />

locations have cashier services. Students will not receive grade reports or<br />

transcripts and will be barred from registration or commencement until<br />

financial obligations are settled to the satisfaction of <strong>College</strong> officials.<br />

Tuition Payment Plan<br />

Students in credit courses may take advantage of the tuition payment plan.<br />

This plan divides tuition into two, three, or four (depending on the date of<br />

registration) equal monthly payments rather than requiring one lump sum.<br />

A $30 non-refundable enrollment fee is charged for this plan. International<br />

students are not eligible for the tuition payment plan. Information about the<br />

plan is available from the cashier or by calling 610-359-5118.<br />

Tuition and Fee Refund<br />

To be eligible for any refund, the student must officially withdraw from the<br />

course or courses. Contact the Records Office for details. A refund will not be<br />

issued that is greater than 100% of tuition and refundable fees minus any<br />

non-refundable fees and required deposits. Students who receive federal<br />

financial aid and withdraw before completing 60% of the semester will have<br />

all or a portion of that aid returned to the federal fund before any refund is<br />

issued (see financial aid section of this catalog). Refund of eligible payments<br />

will be made according to the following schedule:<br />
