Mr. James Robertson, M.A., succeeded his father, of the same name, as<br />
vicar of Holy Island in 1738, and continued to hold the benefice until his death<br />
in the month of April, 1790.<br />

^ Air. Christopher Blackett died 27 August, 1738, aged 27, seised of an<br />
undivided share, comprising about one-third part, of Newham, which liad been<br />
acquired by his late father, also named Christopher. By his will, dated 24 Aug.,<br />
1738, he gave his real estate to his wife for life with remainders over, with<br />
ultimate remainder to his kinsman William Blackett of Newcastle, fitter.<br />
