1796. July. Married last May, Mr. Thompson, of Fenwick-hill, to<br />
Miss James, of Stamford, daughter of Mr. T. James. ^^<br />
1796. July 15. Died at Alnwick, the eldest son of Edward<br />
Charlton, esq., aged 8 years. ^"<br />
1796. July. Great disturbances upon the Rhyne : battles, etc.,<br />
between the Austrians and French, much bloodshed. ^^<br />

1796. July 31. Came to Alnwick General Sir Charles Grey, in<br />
his road to his seat, at Falloden, with his family and retinue, when<br />
Anderson's guns were fired at Alnwick in passing through.<br />
1796. Aug. -1. Died at Alnwick, Miss Patty Burrell, after a long<br />
illness, aged il-—but believed older. ^^<br />
1796. Aug. Died, the 26th of last month, at Alnwick, Robert<br />
Murray, yeoman (an old tenant in Walkergate, of a. house and close),<br />
at the age of 78.<br />

40 years. She was the only child of George Burrell of Wooler, who was youngest<br />
son of Thomas Burrell, of Broome-park.<br />

To Mrs. Martha Burrell of Broom-park my watch. Thomas Davidson, esq.,<br />
of Newcastle, executor in trust for his four daughters, Martha, Helen, Elizabeth<br />
