Duration: 1 year
location: KC
About the Course
This course is suitable for those already working
in the construction industry or wishing to enter it,
having completed a suitable level 2 programme
(e.g. level 2 construction diploma or intermediate
the content of the level 2 diploma, further
developing your knowledge and skills in college
The programme looks within the supervisory
roles of construction, providing an insight into
the management roles. Students will look at the
planning and development of the construction
process. Practical sessions will provide an
appreciation of complex carcassing components,
along with a traditional hipped roof and hipped
dormers.
You will learn by a series of extended practical
exercises in well-equipped workshops, backed-up by
relevant classroom theory.
You will cover the following units:
• Carry out safe working practices in construction
• Carry out first fixing operations
• Carry out second fixing
• Information, quantities and communicating
with others
• Building methods and construction technology
• Erect complex structural carcassing components
• Maintain non-structural and structural
components
• Set up and use fixed and transportable machinery
• Construct a Traditional Hipped/Valley Roof With
Dormer & Trimming To Chimney
Entry Requirements
site carpentry qualification (for example, an ICA
or level 2 construction diploma). You will also be
your suitability for the course.
Students are required to provide their own safety
footwear.
