Global Success Made by <strong>Daimler</strong><br />
Strengthening our presence in our core markets<br />
and in the emerging markets of the future<br />
Dynamic global markets are creating outstanding opportunities<br />
for <strong>Daimler</strong>. Growth will be driven in the future primarily<br />
by the BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China), but<br />
our traditional automotive markets in Europe, the United<br />
States and Japan will also remain very important for us.<br />
The BRIC countries have advanced to become the world’s<br />
fastest-growing automotive markets in a very short time.<br />
The low density of vehicles and an emerging middle class are<br />
leading to booming economies. The car markets of the four<br />
BRIC countries will soon enter the top ten, and <strong>Daimler</strong><br />
Trucks also expects to greatly increase its sales there in the<br />
medium term.<br />
Local production is increasingly becoming a key factor for<br />
success, and we are making targeted investments in areas<br />
such as local brands and new production capacities to make<br />
sure we can fully meet the global demand for our products.<br />
<strong>Daimler</strong> is already present with its own manufacturing facilities<br />
in many countries around the world. New plants like<br />
the one in Hungary, country-specific brands like BharatBenz<br />
in India, and partnerships such as those with Foton in China<br />
and Kamaz in Russia ensure that our global market success<br />
will continue.<br />
Positive global balance through a global presence<br />
Our activities in the BRIC countries underscore our goal of<br />
balanced growth. The new <strong>Daimler</strong> locations benefit from<br />
this, but our traditional sites profit as well through positive<br />
effects like new recruitment and the safeguarding of existing<br />
jobs.<br />
BharatBenz plans to conquer the modern domestic market in India with<br />
special products. From frames to cabs, paint and engine production —<br />
the new <strong>Daimler</strong> plant covers all stages of manufacturing for light, medium<br />
and heavy-duty trucks.<br />
