transhumant Sudanese Fulani Zebu cattle in <strong>the</strong> inner Niger delta <strong>of</strong><br />

Mali. The analyses used data collected on 2550 animals in three<br />

herds studied in 1978-83. The results <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> study are compared with<br />

findings reported in <strong>the</strong> literature on Sudanese Fulani cattle in Mali,<br />

<strong>the</strong> related White Fulani strain in Nigeria, and <strong>the</strong> Gobra in Senegal.<br />
