increasing Agricultural Production in Nepal
Nepal Country Paper No 2.1990. xiv + 59 p. A5. Softcover. ISBN 92-
9020-142-X. Price US$8. US$4 (developing countries).
The author contends that Nepal irrigation policy directives and
resources must be channeled to encourage the participation of
beneficiaries and to focus the functions of the Irrigation Department
on a management perspective. Three low cost approaches to this are
presented: incorporating farmer participation in operation and management,
considering lower cost structures in surface and groundwater
irrigation, and improving the management of irrigation.
