The Centro lnternacional de Agricultura Tropical (CIAT) is a development-oriented,
agricultural research institution dedicated to the
application of science towards lasting alleviation of hunger and
poverty in developing countries.
ClAT is one of the 13 international agricultural research centers under
the auspices of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural
Research (CGIAR).
CIAT’s mandate is carried out by four commodity-based research
programs which are supported by specialized research units and a
training and communications program. The commodity programs
are Bean, Cassava, Rice and Tropical Pastures. The first two have a
global mandate and the third and fourth have a regional mandate for
Latin America and the Caribbean.
Prices
Two price categories have been adopted: Developing and developed
countries.
ClATs policy is to make its publications accessible to researchers,
professionals, and interested individuals from developing and developed
countries. Thus pricing reflects production costs plus a slight
increment to cover handling charges.
Prices are given in US dollars and include a percentage covering
airmail costs. Publication prices are updated yearly.
Orders
Mail orders should be addressed to CIAT’s Publications Distribution
office indicating title, number of copies, and total price, and including
payment. Pro forma invoices can be requested from that office to
confirm availability and total cost.
