environment. 3. Possibilities for modifying crop and soil management
practices to maximize production per unit rainfall. 4. Possibilities
for modifying crop varieties to increase production per unit
rainfall. The emphasis throughout is on the application of existing
knowledge or technology in solving the problems related to crop
