General Information<br />

The <strong>International</strong> Board for Plant Genetic Resources is dedicated to<br />

improving <strong>the</strong> standard <strong>of</strong> living <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> peoples <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> world. It<br />

accomplishes this in two ways: through <strong>the</strong> support and promotion<br />

<strong>of</strong> a global network for<strong>the</strong>collection and conservation <strong>of</strong> cropgenetic<br />

resources; and by sponsoring and carrying out relevant research.<br />

IBPGR <strong>Publications</strong> 1989/90<br />

The information on titles/series numbers supersedes that published<br />

in earlier catalogues. IBPGR publications are available free <strong>of</strong> charge<br />

from <strong>the</strong> <strong>Publications</strong> Office at IBPGR Headquartersto <strong>the</strong> libraries <strong>of</strong><br />

genebanks, university departments, research institutions, etc. On<br />

requestto<strong>the</strong> IBPGR <strong>Publications</strong> Office, limited number<strong>of</strong>titles may<br />

also be made available to individuals who can show that <strong>the</strong>y have a<br />

need for a personal copy <strong>of</strong> a publication.<br />

FAO/IBPGR Plant Genetic Resources Newsletter<br />

Quarterly. 48 pages. A4. Paper.<br />

This Newsletter publishes several types <strong>of</strong> paper. Articles reporting<br />

significant new developments within <strong>the</strong> field <strong>of</strong> plant genetic resources<br />

are subject to strict refereeing procedures. Collecting articles<br />

report recent collecting missions. News items give information<br />

on recent developments.<br />

IBPGR Regional Newsletters<br />

These informal Newsletters report on recent developments <strong>of</strong> regional<br />

interest. There are four <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong>m, appearing 2-4 times per year:<br />

IBPGR Newsletter for Sub-Saharan Africa (2 versions; English and<br />

French)<br />

IBPGR Newsletter for Europe, Southwest Africa and North Africa<br />

IBPGR Newsletter for Asia and <strong>the</strong> Pacific (2 versions; English and<br />

A colorful magazine <strong>of</strong> plant genetic resources aimed at <strong>the</strong> donor<br />

community, <strong>the</strong> wider scientific audience and <strong>the</strong> informed public.<br />
