053.038 That no laden one shall bear ano<strong>the</strong>r's load,<br />
053.039 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort,<br />
I really feel you should reconsider <strong>the</strong> manner in which you are studying <strong>the</strong><br />
Qur’an. If you continue to take out verses from <strong>the</strong>ir proper context you will<br />
surley fall into destruction. If you looked at <strong>the</strong> verses before and after <strong>the</strong><br />
second verse you presented, (053.039), you would have come to know that it<br />
is actually intended for <strong>the</strong> poly<strong>the</strong>ists <strong>of</strong> Makkah and <strong>the</strong> star worshippers<br />
who are being addressed not <strong>the</strong> Muslims, as Allah Almighty says in <strong>the</strong><br />
Qur’an:<br />
053.019 Have ye thought upon Al-Lat and Al-'Uzza<br />
053.020And Manat, <strong>the</strong> third, <strong>the</strong> o<strong>the</strong>r?<br />
053.0.021Are yours <strong>the</strong> males and His <strong>the</strong> females?<br />
053.022 That indeed were an unfair division!<br />
053.023They are but names which ye have named, ye and your fa<strong>the</strong>rs, for<br />
which Allah hath revealed no warrant. They follow but a guess and that<br />
which (<strong>the</strong>y) <strong>the</strong>mselves desire. And now <strong>the</strong> guidance from <strong>the</strong>ir Lord hath<br />
come unto <strong>the</strong>m.<br />
053.049 And that He it is Who is <strong>the</strong> Lord <strong>of</strong> Sirius;<br />
If you learn to read <strong>the</strong> verses in <strong>the</strong>ir proper context, you will be successful<br />
in understanding <strong>the</strong> verses <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> Qur’an, although you and your shaykh<br />
always seem to fail to look at <strong>the</strong> preceeding and following verses. After<br />
looking at <strong>the</strong> verses before and after <strong>the</strong> verses you presented, you will see<br />
that it is actually <strong>the</strong> Jews, Christians, <strong>the</strong> poly<strong>the</strong>ists and those who<br />
worhsipepd <strong>the</strong> stars that <strong>the</strong> verses are talking <strong>of</strong>. Fur<strong>the</strong>rmore, when we<br />
say that we are making wasila using <strong>the</strong> righteousness <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> pious, we do<br />
not mean to say that if a pious person does a good deed we will be rewarded<br />
for HIS good deed. No! What we are saying is that we will receive some <strong>of</strong><br />
<strong>the</strong> blessings for <strong>the</strong> sake <strong>of</strong> that good deed. The argument in this case is not<br />
‘wasila’, but with recieveing blessing and reward for <strong>the</strong> sake <strong>of</strong> ano<strong>the</strong>rs<br />
righteousness.<br />
