Prtljaga posebno izrađena da pristaje u prtljažni prostor
nosi potpis Louis Vuittona / Set of Louis Vuitton luggage,
custom-made to fit in the storage spaces
sharply slices into a short rear end wrapped around the
19-inch wheels.
On Spyker, every detail has its purpose, its genesis and
an immense ammount of time spent on creating it. All vital
parts of the car including the space frame and complete
suspension are made of alluminum, with abundant
use of CNC cutting machines. The exhaust pipes bear
the Spykers slogan: NULLA TENACI INVIA EST VIA (No
road is impassable for the tenacious). The side mirrors
are made of alluminum pipes, specially bent and sliced
to achieve their distinct shape, and the doors open upwards
like on a Lamborghini, but they rest upon only one
hinge. Even the slots on the front and rear end have a
function of helping cool the engine and the brakes.
But it is only after seeing the interior of the C8 Laviolette
that Spyker’s obsession with perfection really gains disturbing
proportions.
The interior is saturated with only finest of materials. Elliptical
shapes of polished and sand-blasted alluminum
details merge with Connolly leather that clads most of
the interior. Sport profiled seats bear four-point seatbelts,
and combined with fantastic details like exposed action
and reaction rods of the gearshift or the interesting
steering wheel design, make the full-glass cockpit a very
special place.
Hidden underneath the front and rear lid, suspension system
boasts Koni F1 push-rod shock absorber units, custom
built for Spyker. Racing AP six-caliper brakes take
care of brutal braking power. Drive-by-wire technology
enables manipulating the engine output depending on
the skill of the driver, and the security card completely
eliminates the need for a key since it activates the
electric systems of the car in radius of three metres. As
a crown to this quest for perfection comes the set of
Louis Vuitton luggage, custom-made to fit in the storage
spaces of the C8 Laviolette.
Dynamic properties of this technological and aesthetical
jewel are more than fulfilling. Mighty engine enables
the top speed of 306 km/h with accelerations of 4,2
seconds to 100 km/h. It might not be the fastest supercar,
but Spyker’s goal is not the maniacal chase for top
speed, rather it is a car built to absolute perfection in
every detail. Despite the large turning circle, the C8 Laviolette
is a very direct and agile car, deafeningly loud
thanks to its short sport exhaust system, and well capable
of taking on most of the opponents in its class.
Such a radical specimen of automotive exotics certainly
has its audience that doesn’t mind the price tag of
quarter of a million euros - for the base model, that is.
Spyker’s image of the low profile brand is just seen by
the rich collectors as one more reason for buying it.
When an order is placed for a car, Spyker opens a personalized
web-page that only the buyer has access to
and where he can monitor absolutely every step of the
building process of his car. The possibilities of inividualizing
a car are limitless.
Beautiful, rare and meticulously built, Spyker C8 Laviolette
is a car that gives a whole new meaning to the
definition of build perfection, a car that makes Ferraris,
Porsches And Lamborghinis look a bit more “ordinary”
than usual.
