Subgrade improvement layer (Capping): as section Q20 if required,
- Compacted thickness: 0-600 mm
o Granular sub-base: as section Q20, 110 mm Crusher run stone, lay geotextile
Terram 1000 below as Q20.
- Compacted thickness: 150 mm
o Base course: 20 mmDBM B/C toBS 4987/ 6.5 - Thickness: 50 mm
o Wearing course: 10mm aggregate bitmac
- Binder: Cold bitumen emulsion to BS 434-1, class K1 60.
- Chippings: To BS EN 13043, nominal size 6 mm.

- Application: Uniformly spray binder at a rate of 2 L/m². Cover with
compact.

o Compaction to all layers: By heavy roller or other appropriate means, adequate to

subsidence or deformation of the completed roads/ pavings when in use. Do
not crush
chippings.
o Completion: Before trafficking, remove excess chippings
o Laid in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations and to the detail
shown on Drawing Nr 83473 - 05, and to include for all related builders work in
association, and all materials.
o To be laid to long falls and cross falls as shown on Drawing Nr 83473-03, allow
for all soft spots and compacted build up on fill materal under new paving areas.
o Pathways to be suitable for a ride on grass cutting machine laid flush with turfed
lawns
