A Check List for Steelwork Sub-Contractor
Clause
Requirement
Steelwork Details:
Indicate all member sizes and weights.
Provide full setting out dimensions on all Plans,
Cross-sections & Elevations.
Provide setting out plan for holding down bolts.
Provide Cross-sections/Elevations on each grid
line.
Provide details of all bolted and welded
connections.
Add a General Note to the GA Drawings detailing
anti-corrosion protection system.
Indicate on GA Drawings fire protection system to
be applied to all steel members
Erection Precautions:
Add a General Note to the GA Drawings to
ensure that a Schedule of all High Strength
Friction Grip Bolts used on the project.
Indicate on drawings the location and type of any
temporary bracing which may be required for the
stability of the bare steel frame. These additional
braces shall ensure the stability of the partially
clad building prior to the erection of all roof and
vertical bracing etc.
Steel:
List on GA Drawings the grades of steel to be
used on the project.

PROTECTION OF STEELWORK AGAINST CORROSION
METAL COATINGS AND ANTI-CORROSIVE PAINT TREATMENTS
(a)
Galvanising
Galvanising treatment shall be carried out in accordance with the
requirements of BS EN ISO 1461:1999 "Specification for Hot-dip
Galvanised Coatings". The metal coating thickness shall be not
less than 85 microns (610 grams per square metre).
