WASTE ROCK MANAGEMENT
It is expected that about 1, 40, 000 M 3 waste rock will be generated in
first five years of working. Nearly 40,000 M 3 shall be either used in
leveling of low lying areas. Part of it will be used in road construction
and taken by local villagers for house construction free of charge.
Remaining 1, 00,000 M 3 would be dumped on waste disposal site in
maximum dump height of 15 M with two benches of 5 M each. Waste
generation shall be significantly reduced thereafter, since there will be
no overburden. Two external dump sites are earmarked with total
dumps area of
0.7 Ha and 0.9 Ha respectively. The dumps shall be
later stabilized, planted and reclaimed.

Impact on soil quality-
The site for mine pit does not have any topsoil. The site for rejects
stack yard also does not bear topsoil. Therefore, there may not be an
adverse effect on topsoil due to the mining. However some adverse
effects on land use pattern will occur due to mining activities.
Impact on ambient air quality-
The major sources/activities of dust emissions are drilling and blasting,
haul roads, transportation etc. Because of semi mechanized/ manual
mining and nature of ore and waste, there shall be less air pollution due
to the mining activities. Some quantity of dust will be generated due to
drilling and blasting. Adequate precautions shall be taken to control the
dust generation. There will be no work in the mine in the night. Dust will
