The rift between bodyand spirit has seemingly reached gigantic proportions,but that hardly concerns the postmodernist “zeitgeist”.The modernist sense of caution has been replaced bypostmodernist indifference and nihilism (at least that’swhat appears at first glance), which is probably the resultof being simultaneously confused and fascinated by newthings on the horizon.Over the course of the last century, it has been repeatedlyconfirmed that a painting as a medium doesn’thave to originate from physical reality.
