3.3 MaterialsThe Contractor must ensure that:a) Sign Face Overlays, Signs and Sign Systems must be as specifiedin the Specifications for Standard <strong>Highway</strong> Sign Materials,Fabrication and Supply; and in the Sign Pattern Manual;b) metal posts and battens are made of perforated, Galvanized steelsquare tubing or of other material as approved in writing by theProvince;c) all wooden posts and battens are pressure-treated wood S4S, withdimensions, colour and shape as specified in the StandardSpecifications for <strong>Highway</strong> Construction;d) metal or concrete posts for delineators are as specified in the SignManuals and that plastic or fiberglass delineator posts are inaccordance with the Standard Specifications for <strong>Highway</strong>Construction;e) oil-base, solid colour stain or oil-base exterior paint, compatibleprimer paint and standard paint colours are as specified in the SignManuals, with all materials meeting the CGSB specifications as toquality, coverage and colour in accordance with the StandardSpecifications for <strong>Highway</strong> Construction;f) all hardware is of non-corrosive material to avoid discolouration ofSign and delineator faces;g) delineator reflectors and reflective sheeting are in accordance withthe Sign Manuals;h) concrete and other materials used for production and fabrication ofSign bases are in accordance with the Sign Manuals, StandardSpecifications for <strong>Highway</strong> Construction or as otherwise approvedin writing by the Province;i) Pickets, animal reflectors and other materials are as approved inwriting by the Province; andj) Guardrail reflectors are as specified in the Standard Specificationsfor <strong>Highway</strong> Construction.2003-2004 <strong>Highway</strong> <strong>Maintenance</strong> Contracts<strong>Maintenance</strong> SpecificationsFebruary 2003, Revised April 10, 2003 Chapter 5-440 – Page 5
