Mindset Masters 4) The regular reminder to set or make goals is part of the secret to a successful life. You need to keep track of your goals, otherwise how will you know if you have achieved them? 5) The mind tends to action best off two frameworks: Pain and Pleasure and Punishment and Reward. While you will move away from pain, moving towards pleasure is (in the longer term) more successful. If you can start linking regular small rewards to achieving tasks then you will be able to move up to larger rewards and larger tasks. 6) We are also connecting a reward (positive feeling for cleaning out the fridge) with the symbolic removal of an issue or idea. While it may be tempting to 'discard' more items, it is suggested you concentrate on one at a time. This gives you a true opportunity for changing this item, and also focuses on having more positive items than negatives in your limited time. Hopefully your fridge requires only a small number of items to be thrown out, too! There can be many ways of achieving mindset change. The easiest way is to anchor to an existing set of activities. I have chosen your interactions with your refrigerator due to its pervasive influence in your life. It can work equally well in interaction with other items in your life. Each part of the process may help you with achieving your mindset. These are unlikely to have an overnight affect -­‐ and in fact, until the process is second nature, you will not get all the benefits. 103
