Mindset Masters Chapter 10 A Cooler Life, Making Mindset Manageable Introduction By Ken Wickenden Gaining an insight into your own mind is a major accomplishment. The revelation from knowing that you think, to knowing what you think, is a key step in becoming self-­‐aware. This step is often one of self-­‐analysis after observation. Review of actions you have taken and critical observation of your behavior may reveal unconscious motives. In this review it is necessary to draw a distinction between your intention and the observed behavior. For example: You may not intend to appear unhappy, but if in each activity you are observed to act without happiness, individuals around you are affected by your actions, not your intentions. Studies have shown that merely maintaining a smile affects not only those around you, but changes your own mood, too. Synthesizing, (i.e. 'making up') the actions equivalent to happiness is as convincing to you as it is to others. Together we will find a way to look at how you act and to align it with your desired mindset to bring about effective change.
