directly or indirectly, authorize, cause, assist, encourage,participate in, ratify, or condone any strike, sit-down, sitin,slowdown, cessation or stoppage of work, mass absenteeism,boycott, picketing, or refuse to faithfully and properlyperform in whole or in part, any customarily assignedduties for the Authority, or conduct any other interferencewith or interruption of work at any of the Authority’s operationsincluding the recognition of and refusal to crossany picket line erected at Authority premises, and the Authorityagrees that there shall be no lockout.(2) In the event of an unauthorized strike, slowdown, orstoppage of work, the Authority agrees that there will beno liability on the part of the <strong>Union</strong> provided the <strong>Union</strong>promptly and publicly disavows such unauthorized strike,slowdown, or stoppage of work, orders the employees toreturn to work, utilizes all best efforts to ensure the returnto work, and attempts to bring about a prompt resumptionof normal operations, and provided further that the <strong>Union</strong>notifies the Authority, in writing, within twenty-four (24)hours after the <strong>com</strong>mencement of such job action, whatmeasures it has taken to <strong>com</strong>ply with provisions of thisArticle.(3) The Authority shall have the right to discipline, by way ofsuspension, discharge or otherwise any person who participatesin any violation of this Article.ARTICLE XXII – MISCELLANEOUS(1) Savings and SeparabilityIt is not the intention of the Authority or the <strong>Union</strong> to violateany applicable laws or regulations by the enactmentof this Agreement or in the application of its terms.
