In addition to having <strong>the</strong> cleanest and most effi cient<br />
drivetrain in its class, <strong>the</strong> CT 200h is also designed to<br />
minimise environmen<strong>tal</strong> impact. Bio-sourced materials<br />
are used extensively: a world fi rst for Lexus, luggage<br />
room linings are made from ‘ecological plastic’ containing<br />
30% plant-based material, while indigenous fast-growing<br />
bamboo is <strong>of</strong>fered as a trim option. At <strong>the</strong> end <strong>of</strong> its life, a<br />
minimum <strong>of</strong> 85% <strong>of</strong> <strong>the</strong> car can be recycled, including <strong>the</strong><br />
hybrid battery.<br />
Production integrates our world-famous ‘lean manufacturing’<br />
techniques with waste kept to an absolute minimum. Every<br />
day <strong>the</strong> Aqua Control Centre at <strong>the</strong> CT 200h plant purifi es<br />
up to 4,000 tonnes <strong>of</strong> water before releasing it back into <strong>the</strong><br />
eco-system.<br />
