EIE-Surveyor<strong>Electrical</strong> <strong>and</strong> Information Eng<strong>in</strong>eer<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> Slovakia, boundaries of the field ofstudyAccord<strong>in</strong>g to the new HE law (No. 131/2002) passed <strong>in</strong> February 2002, studyprogrammes <strong>in</strong> the academic year 2007/8, are based on a new “system of study fields <strong>in</strong> HE”issued by the M<strong>in</strong>istry of Education of the Slovak Republic <strong>in</strong> December 2002 [seeHUhttp://www.m<strong>in</strong>edu.sk/<strong>in</strong>dex.php?lang=sk&rootId=413UH]. Follow<strong>in</strong>g this document the studyprograms <strong>in</strong> EIE at the level of the first degree (Bc.), the second degree (MSc.) <strong>and</strong> the thirddegree (PhD.) are based on the “ma<strong>in</strong> fields of study” as def<strong>in</strong>ed by the document “Sústavaštudijných odborov Slovenskej republiky” (The System of Ma<strong>in</strong> Fields of Study of the SlovakRepublic[see:Uttp://www.m<strong>in</strong>edu.sk/data/USERDATA/VysokeSkolstvo/SSOSR/Sustava_studijnych_odborov_SR.xls)]U,issued by the M<strong>in</strong>istry of Education of the SR <strong>in</strong> 2002. Each “Study Program” has to bedesigned <strong>and</strong> realized <strong>in</strong> the frame of the particular “Ma<strong>in</strong> field of study” which is described <strong>in</strong>the above mentioned document. Several programmes can be designed <strong>and</strong> realized <strong>in</strong> thesame field of study focus<strong>in</strong>g its contents on some closer specialization but conta<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>gnecessary “core knowledge” of the ma<strong>in</strong> field.
