After selecting all the packages to install, click InstallPackages. Verify the packages to be installed and the system on which to install them.Select a time to install the packages: as soon as possible or no longer than a specific time.Click Schedule Updates to complete the action. Alternatively, if you click Run RemoteCommand, you can schedule a custom script to run before or after the package update ifRemote Command execution is enabled on the system. Use extreme caution when usingthis feature, especially if executing the script as the root user.NOTEAdministrators can only schedule software to be installed from a base or child channelto which the system is subscribed.3Granting Users Access to Specific SystemsTo add users to your RHN account, follow the instructions in the “Assigning Users to theRHN Website” section earlier in this chapter. Next, create system groups as describedearlier in this section based on the administrative groups for your organization. Forexample, if one set of administrators is responsible for all web servers and another teammanages all internal servers, you might want to create a system group of web servers anda system group of internal servers.Select Systems from the horizontal menu, and then select System Groups from the verticalmenu to view a list of all defined system groups. For each system group, use thefollowing steps to assign which RHN users can perform actions on them via the RHNwebsite:1. Click on the name of the system group to show the detailed view of it.2. Click the Edit group administrators link in the Admins section.3. Select the desired RHN users.4. Click Update.Retrieving Software from RHN with YUMAlthough software maintenance for systems can be done via the RHN website, sometimesit is necessary or preferred to perform the same actions from the local system needing theupdates or additional software. Previous versions of <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Hat</strong> <strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Linux</strong> used theUpdate Agent (up2date) program to download and install software from RHN. The UpdateAgent could be run from the command line or as a graphical program. As of <strong>Red</strong> <strong>Hat</strong><strong>Enterprise</strong> <strong>Linux</strong> 5, the YUM utility has replaced the Update Agent. YUM can install orupgrade software by using either the command-line version (executed with the yumcommand) or one of two graphical programs:
