Alternatively, execute thesystem-config-bind command. If you are not already logged in as the root user, thecorrect root password must be entered before you are allowed to use the tool. The application comes with a detailed manual in PDF format in the /usr/share/doc/system-config-bind-/scb_manual.pdf file. This section highlights some of itsfeatures, but the manual should be consulted for complete instructions. When the tool starts, it reads the existing /etc/named.conf file and loads the currentconfiguration. However, if the file contains a syntax error, the error is displayed instead. After fixing the error, start the tool again to proceed. Because the configuration file is readeach time the tool starts, it can be modified manually with a text editor before or afterusing system-config-bind without losing the changes the next time the tool is started.
