LEGISLATIVE AND REGULATORY ENVIRONMENT6All classified installations take into account the followingenvironmental aspects : air pollution, waterpollution, waste, nature conservancy (fauna, flora,landscapes, archaeology, forests, natural areas, agriculture),noise pollution, rational use of energy, townplanning were carried out. Developments agreedwith the neighbouring populations and with environmentalplayers and protectors.The administrative authorities and the independentlaboratories conduct regular inspections on the cementfactories, in addition to the internal audits carriedout by the Group.The Group complies with the applicable environmentallaws and regulations and holds the authorisations,permits and licenses necessary to allow it to carryout its business. The laws and regulations imposeincreasingly rigorous standards of environmentalprotection for industrial activities such as those carriedon by the Group, in particular in the EuropeanUnion and in the United States, and are interpretedmore and more restrictively by the authorities. TheGroup expects this tendency to continue, which exposesthe Group to an increased risk of claims andsignificant expenditure resulting from environmentalissues.The Group is working actively on the developmentand installation of measures intended to protect theenvironment. The development and adaptation ofproduction technologies is a key element for theGroup’s environmental management policy.
