The qualifications cover arange of areas including wellbeing, physicalfitness, team working, map reading &navigation, health & safety in the workplace,how the body works and planning anddelivering activities.Entry RequirementsYou need a range of GCSEs up to grade D and Level 1English, as well as a proven interest in Sport, Leisureand the Uniformed Public Services.Course ExpensesSports kit – £105.Trips/ResidentialsThere are trips to relevant sites and local outdoor venuesthroughout the course, as well as optional visits toWimbledon and Twickenham. Guest speakers also help youto gain a better understanding of the industry.Career Prospects/ProgressionAfter you have successfully completed this course, youcan apply for work in gyms, leisure centres and swimmingpools. You can also progress to Level 2 qualifications inSport or Uniformed Public Services.BTEC Diploma (Level 2)SportThis industry-recognised qualificationaims to give you with the underpinningknowledge needed to work in the Sportindustry. The national occupationalstandards have been integrated into thiscourse to ensure you are well prepared foremployment. You will learn about FitnessTesting & Training and Practical Sportsand can choose from optional modulesincluding Effects of Exercise on the BodySystems, Development of Personal Fitnessand Psychology of Sports Performance.Alongside this qualification, you may beable to complete National Governing Bodyawards and a First Aid certificate.Entry RequirementsYou need at least two GCSEs at grade C or above alongwith D and E grades in a range of subjects.Course ExpensesSports kit – approximately £100.
