The DIRA also provides forconditions for access to that data held byLIC.Pursuant to the DIRA, rules for access tothe regulated database provide thatapplications for access to data may berefused unless they are in the interests ofthe New Zealand dairy industry.Investment restrictions also apply in thecase of the LIC, which requires theapproval of the responsible Minister if itwishes to relax the current statutoryrestriction requiring shareholders to bedairy farmers who buy services from theLIC.III-NZ-5
