disk. It is helpful to know what the capacity of your disk is so that you cantell if there is a problem! Two Disk DrivesPrompt: Destroy EXTRA:?If you type v, the directory, and therefore your access to the contents ofEXTRA:, will be destroyed. The disk named EXTRA: then becomes an exactcopy of MYDISK:, even having the same volume name. This is oftendesirable for making a backup copy of a disk. It is an easy way to make acopy and the volume name can be changed using the Change command ifyou want to leave both on line. When you use the Transfer command to copy the contents of an entire disk, the Filer transfers each block of information on the source disk to the samelocation on the destination disk.If you do not wish to destroy the contents of EXTRA:, type N and you willreturn to the command level of the Filer. To copy a disk with a two-drive system, invoke the Filer and then removeall system disks from the disk drives. You can then use one drive for thesource disk and one drive for the destination disk.Remember This Exception: If you are using two different drives forthe source and destination disks while performing a full-disktransfer, you can refer to them by their volume numbers rather thantheir names and the Filer will be able to tell them apart even if theirnames are the same. Once you leave the Transfer command, the ruleforbidding two disks on line with the same name is back in force!11-48Chapter 3: The Filer
