To use the Find command, press F for Find while at the Edit level. One ofthe following prompt lines then appears, depending on the setting of theEnvironment's Token default option (see the "Set Environment" section).You see this prompt if the Environment's Token default option is set toTrue:>Find[1J: LCit =>You see this prompt if the Environment's T( oken default option is set toFalse:>Find[1J: TCok (target> =>DirectionThe Find command searches for the specified occurrence of the targetstring, starting at the present cursor position and scanning through the textin the set direction (indicated by the arrow at the beginning of the promptline).A target string can be found only if it appears in the text between the cursorand the end of the file toward which the search is progressing.If you wish to search in the reverse direction, you must set the directionindicator before typing F to find something. See the section on the directionindicators (under "Cursor Behavior in the Editor" earlier in this chapter) forinformation about setting the direction. If the required occurrence of thetarget string is not found by searching through the text in the set direction,this message appears:ERROR: Pattern not in the file. Please press to continue.Notice that the search does not "wrap around." There is no search in theportion of the file between the cursor and the end of the file in the directionopposite the set direction.Repeat-FactorYou may specify a repeat-factor just before you type the F for Find. Itappears on the prompt line in square brackets: [l], for example. If you entera repeat-factor of 6, the cursor appears after the 6th occurrence of the targetstring.
