Move the cursor to any spot in the text where you want to place a marker.When the cursor is in the desired spot, type SM for Set Marker. The ·following prompt appears:Set what marker? escapesNow type the name of the marker (up to eight characters) that you wantplaced at the current cursor position, then press RETURN. You can use anyprintable character in a marker name, but all lowercase letters areconverted to uppercase letters.If you have already placed a marker with the specified name in the file atan earlier time, the Editor moves the old marker to the current cursorposition without comment, and the old position is lost.Only ten markers are allowed in a file at any one time. If you attempt toplace an eleventh marker, the following message appears:Marker overflow.fl) name11) name2Which one to replace?9) name10You must eliminate one of your existing markers before you can place thenew one. Choose a number from 0 through 9 and type that number. Its placein the list will now be available for your new marker name.
